Stendhal Syndrome: A Creative Workshop

An intimate, self-directed creative workshop inspired by the exhibition Nan Goldin: Stendhal Syndrome, exploring the overwhelming experience of emotion and beauty in the presence of art. Participants created collage responses to selected artworks, translating feeling and vulnerability into visual form.
A live sonic intervention by Jefferson Aladé, Losso™️, and Kristen Liston of JOMA Studios shaped the evening's atmosphere and pacing—functioning not as background but as an interpretive framework linking listening and seeing. The improvised, live-mixed soundscape wove together music and audio samples connected to Goldin's practice and activism, situating her work within conversations around Black Futures and contemporary social conditions.
Through the pairing of sound and visual art, the workshop invited cross-modal exploration—where sensory boundaries blur and heightened awareness, intuition, and creative discovery can emerge.
